Gyro’s smile breaks open like the dawn, brilliant and burgeoning with warmth.
“You kiss me, and it’s a joke on the world. It’s a joke on everyone. Only you and I are in on it.”
And Gyro laughs, resonant, it shudders into the little spaces between Johnny’s bones. It becomes a piece of him.
