Summary
Empowered by her previous brief separation from Michael, Amanda De Santa wrestles with her feelings and comes to a startling conclusion – she really is much happier as a single woman. Well, sort of single, anyway.
Michael, on the other hand, is about to learn that money really can’t buy happiness. It can, however, buy the affection of former mistress Marissa Morgan, though his movie studio connections certainly help in that regard, too. It can also buy a beachfront property in Chumash, which is a good thing since he agreed to buy one for Amanda to move into – things get messy when you marry young and poor with no prenup, after all.
While Amanda relishes her newfound freedom and sets about rediscovering herself, Michael finally confronts the reality that he messed up big time and might not be able to fix things after all before resolving to seek distraction from his situation in any way he can. Tracey and Jimmy contend with suddenly becoming children of divorce along with all the benefits and drawbacks that brings. As for Marissa … she’s about to learn that life might not be so fun when you catch feelings for unavailable men, and that some entanglements are better kept firmly behind closed doors.

Vinewood, 2018. After five years spent working at the Richards Majestic studio, Michael De Santa is sure of only one thing: when it comes down to it, there isn’t that much difference between producing a movie and planning a heist.
When a script lands on his desk bearing details that hit a little too close to home, Michael quickly realizes he’s the only person that can get the movie made the way it needs to be made, mostly because his livelihood depends on it. Swapping Merryweather mercenaries for temperamental investors and the FIB for prima-donna actors, Michael’s limits are about to be tested once more – and that’s before he realizes he’s going to have to involve his ex-mistress Marissa Morgan, who is sure to bring her own brand of controversy to the table.
Solomon Richards once said "never work with actors or directors," and for his part, Michael might just be adding obsessive screenwriters, hapless interns, and women scorned to the ever-growing list.

Michael wakes up, sweating and disoriented. The warehouse off Dutch London and Banning? It’s familiar, he’s been there before, just the once. Didn’t want to know any more about what Trevor did to Mr. K than he had to. Before that? Therapy. The strangest fucking therapy session of his life. The sea boiling and the dead walking, real end of days type bullshit.
Now, he’s in that same dingy warehouse, hands and feet duct taped to a chair. He’s hallucinating, has to be – just his guilty conscience or whatever, getting the better of him. There’s no other explanation for the talking snake or the balcony fall or the fact he’s still breathing after it.
Something sparks, lights up the gloom, and illuminates Trevor’s face staring back at him. Trevor, who knows something Michael never wanted him to find out. Trevor, who has a score to settle. But, as it turns out, Trevor never really wanted revenge. Not in the bloody, violent way Michael always imagined, anyway.
As Michael’s mind plays dirty trick after dirty trick on him, he subconsciously uncovers deeper meaning in the years he and Trevor spent drifting from job to job.
