However, if I tell you too much, you’re gonna get roped in, too, and I don’t want that for you. Most students can go their whole degree without any direct business with the Federation. You already know more than 90% of students do. Just trust me and stay away from the Federation.”
As he talked, he inched closer to Katie, speaking in a hushed, intense tone that made her eyes dart around to make sure no one was nearby. She had only been on campus for a few hours, and she already had a freaky guy putting shit in her head and making her nervous.

This was ridiculous. Vampires weren’t real!
They belonged in cheesy romance movies, children’s fairy tales, and those terrible books Ewron used to read just to piss him off!
And they certainly didn’t bite university students and leave them with fangs.
Multi slowly opened his mouth again, but the fangs were still there.
“…Fuck.”
Since that day, Multi learned how to live with his new hunger. Blood bags from the hospital—expired or otherwise unusable ones he could obtain through his studies—became his usual source of food.
Until, during a painfully long Neuroscience lecture, Multi caught a strange smell. It was sweet, like unicorn barf.
He looked up from his notebook. A girl sat a few rows away, listening to the professor. He knew her. They had the same class.
Katie. That was her name. As far as he was concerned, she was annoying and loud.
But whatever was in her blood smelled… really fucking good.
