Summary
A (mostly) canon-compliant continuation of the series. It felt so unfinished (literally because it was) to the point where I have started writing fics. Anyways, the fic is a grittier, more realistic take on the story/ characters, begining from the end of episode 20 and beyond. I really wanted to explore Julie and Mike's relationship, and the reveal of her true connection to Kane.

Summary
Always, Sam is worrying that he cares too much. Always, Sam knows that he cares too much. But he doesn’t know how to treat Mister Frodo how he would treat any other master he wasn’t in love with because he has no other master and he simply is in love with Frodo. So, he is stuck forever-wondering if his seams show. If there is straw poking out. If the crows fear him, or are only pretending. “My dear Sam,” Frodo sighs, thumbing back and forth over the hewn pattern in his mug. It is a large earthenware alehorn Thorin made, and there are dwarfish runes carved into the sides. Sam has loved this mug since he was a child, and would trace the shapes with the tip of his fingers, wondering what mysterious things the runes held inside, what they meant. If they were love poems to Bilbo, which he chose to believe, at first because it felt scandalous, and later, because it gave him hope. If he has the option to choose the mug he brews tea for Frodo in, he still chooses this one. “You take such very good care of me,” Frodo murmurs.
“Well, yes, sir,” Sam says, blushing. It is my job.”

Summary
Sam had always thought of himself as a very open-minded hobbit - but it could be that there was a difference between knowing that Mister Frodo did things, things certain other hobbits might say were unnatural, in his bedchamber, and seeing him there in his nightshirt with another lad’s hands all over him. In which Sam walks in on Frodo in a compromising position and comes to a realisation (eventually).

“We have not broken up,” answered Noriaki honestly. They had not broken up. It had been a month or so of icy silence, but Jotaro would break. Eventually. He was putting it off while he ‘hunted a serial killer’ and ‘met a long-lost relative’ (whatever), but he would break.
“You two need to talk more.”
“We do.”
“You need to talk about these things more often.”
“I took that criticism under review the last ten times you said it.”
“Mais,” sighed Jean, with a shrug. “It’s your partnership, and you can handle it however you like. But I will say that I hate it when you two are ‘off again.’”
((Noriaki Lives AU in which Noriaki is called into Morioh by his reluctant boyfriend to help handle the Kira case, which is terrible timing, as their relationship is really rough going right now. Bizarrely, the whole story is told through phone calls to one Jean-Pierre Polnareff, who is traveling down the Atlantic coast on a mission of his own.))
