Summary
Steve lets himself into the lab using the finger scanner, cursing under his breath as it suddenly feels as if it’s taking too damn long to confirm his identity. As soon as the door starts to slide open Steve shoves himself through. He stumbles into the lab and in just a few steps he can see the machine. Thank God, Tony is there, in one whole piece.
So is Tony.
Two Tonys.
Steve grabs the fire extinguisher off the wall and falls into attack position.
One of the Tony's holds up his hands and shouts, "Steve, honey, wait!"
The other Tony turns to the first and gapes. "Did you just call him ‘honey’?"

I would never hear her speak again. Not that soft whisper in potions as she chastised Potter and the Weasel to shut up at the risk of house points, or the laugh released in the great hall when Loony Lovegood said something particularly outrageous. There would never be another confident answer spoken over the silence of a room full of daft students or a cheer in the quidditch stands as Potter stole the snitch from my fingertips. The mudblood would never utter another word or sound that wasn’t a scream of agony, I was sure of that. Aunt Bella would soak the floor in her filthy blood. I should be thrilled, I should be full of joy at the sight of her still shaking body upon the drawing room floor, but I found myself clutching my wand and a knife instead, and aching for just one more word as Aunt Bella screamed at me to use my first unforgivable curse.
