Shadow's presence in everyone's loves was brief, but impactful.
For Rouge, she could feel more vulnerable, more like a person around him... Though she couldn't be because of her mission but in any other circumstance... She could have been friends with him. Best friends even.
With Sonic, he knew Shadow for less longer than Rouge did and they were clashing for most of it, though they had some meaningful conversations by the end.

After Shadow fell from the Ark and "died", Sonic felt bad about not being able to save him.
Everyone was grieving him
Both him and Rouge were greiving him but in a way they and only they can relate too.
Grieving the relationship they could have had with himThey find eachother on the roof near where him and Shadow first met. They go back to Rogue's apartment to hang out and drink and it turns into a desire to fuck eachother without having to worry about feelings

Sonic raised tails when no one else would. Even though he was a child himself who had no one to support him. But he did it and tails grew up to be great
Tails recently got back from a solo adventure and was curious about where he came from and the childhood he had with sonic that he was too young to remember, or what he didn't realise about certain situations.
He talks with others about what it was like when he was little with sonic, and sonic thinks about what it was like from his own perspective.
And it was a lot different from what other people saw

"Hello? McLeary residence speaking?" She says.
"Is this Suze McLeary?"
"Yes. It is"
"I'm doctor ##### from ##### hospital, I'm calling regarding your husband Cameron McLeary."
Suze felt her heart drop. What the hell happened to her man?
After regaining composure she answered "w...what happened?"
"There was an incident on the Beria D. I can't disclose what exactly happened but your husband along with 3 other survivors are here in quarantine being tested. Aswell as treated for various injuries and health complications."
The doctor kept explaining something. But suze couldn't listen, not when her knees were weak.
After the phone had hung up she ran to the girl's room, "we need to go. Put your shoes on."

Vector never thought he would live past 18, if that was anything.
He thought he'd have no family, no money, and no life. It made sense— after all. He felt he deserved a life like that after everything.
Yet, ironically, he always thought himself to be wrong.
And he was right about that, just not in the way he thought.Especially after he found himself the caretaker of two.
Seriously, how did it even get like this? And now, it seems life's getting better? He's meeting old friends and new, its strange.There's something about these kids… They made Vector feel something, he didn't know what, though.
Maybe he'd try to live a bit longer. Anything to figure this out. He did always want to be a detective.
