Summary
Driver learned how to disappear. Ryland never stopped looking for him. Years later, an unexpected reunion forces them to confront the past, the lives they built apart, and what still exists between them.
Told across several years, the story follows Driver as he deals with the consequences of violence and survival, and Ryland Grace, who has spent years trying to move forward after losing the person who mattered most. When they find each other again, grief, guilt, comfort, and longing begin to pull them toward a future neither of them expected.

DEAD DOVE: DO NOT EAT - READ THE TAGS! You've been warned.
The stars were dying. The Petrova task force sent out only the most qualified astronauts, who weren't blown up in the explosion. Dr. Ryland Grace woke up on the Hail Mary after it entered the Tau Ceti system with no prior memories as to who he was, and how he got there. It also didn't help he couldn't steer the Hail Mary without his trusted Pilot who he can't remember in the slightest. At least he met a pretty cool alien along the way. Too bad the pilot knows exactly who Ryland is and how they got there, and he isn't very happy about it.

Summary
Moving in with Colt and Jody had been, largely, a formality.
Dean thinks that was their therapist’s idea, to make it something formal, but what they talk about during their couple’s therapy sessions is not Dean’s business. He's just their ride.
(And their third. Something they valued. Wanted. Loved, or, at least, Colt did, and every time Dean thinks about that, the yawning pit of need and hunger in his core feels… not smaller, certainly. But maybe it aches a little less.
He maybe understands why Colt was so excited about the collar. About the visual proof of being kept.)

For the first time in years, Driver thinks he could have a future. Jody and Colt want him, even as they see deeper and deeper into the animal he is. If he grips them tight, maybe, this time, he can stay.
If only their pasts would leave them behind. If only the history of his botched entanglement with Nino wasn't following him, hadn't infected Colt and Jody and Irene and Benicio. If only he wasn't drowning in his mistakes.
(If only Gail Meyer had stayed in jail--though she may end up being a blessing in disguise.)

K's world has been thrown into chaos. He wasn't supposed to feel - to hope. Yet here he was, dying for a cause he didn't believe in, with emotions he shouldn't have clawing at his ribs. Maybe this was the closest to human he could get.
