Summary
There's always a part of him that will fear that alpha desire; that's read the cautionary tales of how things change once teeth meet flesh. He can't hold off forever, because expectation is a double edged sword. If he continues like this, people will think he's a prude (he doesn't mind) or that Jayce is an inefficient alpha (that, for some reason, does bother him.)

Surviving his suicide attempt didn't cure Jayce's darkness, it just left him to rebuild among the ruins. Dragging himself back to work, he expects the familiar rhythm to dull the noise. He doesn't expect Viktor.
