Summary
After dying the first time and ending up on a King-Cross-Station-afterlife, Harry finds out he was not only Voldemorts' horcrux, but Dumbledores’ as well, and that the latter intended for him to die to be able to take possession of Harry’s body.
After he kills both trespassing soul shards in him, defeats Voldemort, and tries to move on.
He really tries. But the rest of the world doesn’t, and the remaining prejudices lingering are worse than before the war.Harry has changed, and he needs the world to do so as well. Having discovered just how deep the machinations behind the war, his childhood and Tom Riddle’s- he decides he doesn’t want to be the lamb raised for slaughter, instead, he will be a powerful weapon, one that with the power of the Master of Death will be reborn in the past to wreak havoc.
It is an easy plan. Step one: Train, become a badass weapon, and die to travel back in time Step two: Prevent Dumbledore from ever raising to power, stop Grindelwald’s genocidal plans, befriend young Tom Riddle and prevent him from making horcruxes and becoming insane, and restoring the magical balance between Light and Dark, and-

Summary
Looking up as the view over the mountainous path ahead of him finally starts to reveal those spiraling dark towers hidden amidst snowy white peaks, Harry reflects again on all the other little moments of his life that have led up to this one, and whether there was anything he could ever have done differently to end up someplace else. He wonders what awaits him in the sunless days ahead and whether all of the hardship he endured on this journey will have been worth it by the end.
What is possibly most damning of all is that he is not thinking of his parents right now as he trudges alongside his companions up to Voldemort’s eerie castle. He is thinking instead, as he often does, of a name that burns too brightly on his wrist in the pre-dawn light. He is thinking of what could have been, what has never been, what will never be.
He is wondering if somehow the fruitless tugging on his heart means that somewhere, some way, Tom is watching over him. He wonders what his faceless ghost would think of him if he could see him now.

Summary
Harry and Tom meet when they're 4 and 8. They grow into (somewhat) friends, with Tom teaching Harry how to read (hes 4, guys) and Harry giving Tom all the shiny silver and gold he can get his parents to give him (a lot. It's a lot).
When Harry eventually starts Hogwarts at 11, Tom is already 14 in Slytherin. And while his social standing might not be top notch, he does still have followers (read: friends).
