Bob had never thought much about glasses.
Little frames perch on people’s noses, worn by plenty of people to see better. Growing up in Florida, just a smidge under half the class in his middle school had worn them. They would have remained an unremarkable part of everyday life if Bob hadn't accidentally stumbled upon Yelena wearing a pair.
Or: Bob found out that Yelena wears glasses and immediately realized he was far less normal about her than he had thought.

Except Yelena wakes up acting completely normal.Which would be reassuring, if it did not leave everyone wondering why the curse seemingly did nothing at all.
Or: Yelena is placed under a curse to fall in love with the first person she sees after waking up. Except it doesn’t seem to be working.
