A royal death during battle was a sign. Years later, Laurent’s features soft with sleep beside Damen, he would think of that as well. He would pull Laurent closer, face buried in the crook of his shoulder and breathing in his omega’s scent mixed with his own. Summary
Damen did not resent that Laurent needed his time. Damen, of course, would take a knife to the gut before he left Laurent alone after any sort of bedplay where he was giving the orders, but that was Laurent. Damen had done this sort of thing before, and was accustomed to it, and did not need coddling, in any case, until or unless Laurent wanted to give it. So Damen was going to stay still, and count, and not be foolish.
