After weeks of searching for her, Peter had never imagined that Jean would be the one to find him.
Yet there she was, standing on his doorstep.
She wore what she seemed to favor most—a loose, oversized jacket with the hood pulled over her head, casting most of her face into shadow. Still, Peter could see enough to know that she looked well.
Better than he had expected, considering everything that had happened.
For a few seconds, neither of them said anything.
Peter simply stood there, taking her in, trying to convince himself that she was really standing in front of him.Jean finally broke the silence.
