Summary
Over the years, Sam and Dean have learned a few rules regarding their lives as hunters: demons can’t be trusted, silver bullets for shifters, iron for spirits, most monsters are kill first and ask questions later, and angels like PBJ sandwiches (or maybe that’s just their specific angel).
But there’s always an exception to every rule.
A demon that can’t be exorcised? A monster with no reliable weaknesses? A creature intelligent enough to run once hunters nearly kill it? An absolute son of a bitch that thinks its funny to bury Baby beneath a foot of snow as a diversion (that absolutely works, damn it)?
To stand a chance against this new breed of enemy, they’ll have to be vigilant.
Especially when the darkness has eyes… the night has ears…And the shadows are always watching…

“After all of that,” Leon finally says, like he’s fighting back a throat-clearing, “Don’t you think you deserve the rest?”
Bryan thinks on those twisted words. They bundle themselves up, cosy in his ear. What does he deserve?
And the warmth of Leon’s hand is an unmistakable fire beneath his skin. Where his fingertips had drug across is a trickle of electricity all the way down his spine, lingering in the dimples at his back. But it just as soon runs cold as Leon quickly pulls his hand away.
He leaves Bryan like that, in the bitter silence, his head full of thoughts but resting in a brilliantly soft pillow.

Bryan Hodukavich was supposed to drive into Raccoon City, deliver an organ, get paid, and go home.
Instead, he gets stranded in a snowstorm, finds a dead cop, loses his car, ends up trudging through the snow with a kidney in tow, and gets a gun pointed at his head by a very attractive stranger.
In his defense, Bryan has never been particularly good at making sensible decisions under pressure.
As it turns out, the stranger isn't having a particularly great night, either.
