    Aug 16, 2026 I did another read through and enjoyed it. I found and cleaned up a few typos, a few punctuation and spacing errors and added a very few italics. This version is the cleanest yet.

     

    This romance between Midvalley and Wolfwood has its seeds during time spent as fellow students at Chapel the Evergreen’s Academy. They meet again over a decade later some years after Wolfwood is ordained to the priesthood. The pair wind up partnered as agents in the service of Knives Millions.

    The relationship between Midvalley and Legato also began when they were students and is a pervasive thread throughout.

    Henry settles between Hans' legs, jaw working as he lifts the blood-soaked bandage. “Don’t make a face. It’s nearly as good as a mortar and pestle.”

    “I don’t doubt you’ve got teeth.” Hans wrinkles his nose as Henry sticks another pinch of chamomile petals into his cheek. “I’m just worried about catching something.”

    Henry rolls his eyes.

    “If my mouth’s good enough for the baker’s daughter, it’ll serve you just fine.”
