Summary
Gem shouts, a wordless angry noise, and strikes at the unprotected chest of the closest player. He can’t watch beyond that, spinning to meet the second and catching another blow that could have met Gem’s unprotected back. His shield splinters at the edge from the next, and then Gem is there. Her leading ax-strike nearly takes off her opponent’s arm, the following sword neatly severs head from neck.
It's not ideal, but he'll do whatever he can to get them back to the Hermits. Even if that means pushing through the sacrifice he's already made, and taking advantage of the one he is supposed to protect.
Even if that means confronting his own vulnerability afterwards, and sharing it with her.Series

Each one stands alone, at different places in the timeline, and all focused on the A++ derpage of Xisuma as he struggles with re-finding his place after mistakes are made and friendships are tested. Full of Xisuma whump and angst, and mostly with happy or hopeful endings.These stories are better understood if you've read the original series, which I highly, highly recommend. mayflowers handles sensitive topics with care and grace, and the Hermits are there for each other with stacks and shulker boxes of love and support.

And what if a sudden assassination attempt sped up the whole "kidnap the jedi and make him the Be'alor" plan?This is heavily inspired by all the great Jango/Obi soulmate fics out there, including those by Emrys_Fae and kj_febarn. A lot of it is also a character study of all the ways Obi-Wan hurts his own feelings by not believing that anyone loves him.

Cody's General was a perfect example for the men. He ate regularly. He was punctual with his medical appointments. Kenobi socialized with his officers, hosted curated office hours for the rank-and-file, walked the field hospitals during engagements, and made time every Centaxday to review escalated grievance reports.
He was there for his men—but always at the exactly appropriate arm’s length away and half step ahead.

Cody notices that Kenobi's regard for himself is always clinical and utilitarian. As he ponders a way to break the stalemate, he begins to learn more about the lightsaber that is so often in his hands, and how it relates to the subject of Kenobi's own soul.

Summary
Obi-Wan Kenobi walked contemplatively through the brightly lit halls of the Jedi Temple trying to figure out how he would be able to pull off his next mission for the Council. Preferably without starting a planetary wide incident. Again. Not having Anakin with him this time around would probably help in that respect, but he would miss having the back up.
For this mission though, he thought he could put aside the bits of phase one clone armor he had taken to wearing during the war and just don his regular Jedi robes, cloak and all.
Of course, that meant he had to find his cloak, which was proving impossible. A quick inspection of his sparsely appointed quarters had confirmed that he most likely just needed a new one.
