Cale's plan was simple. Stab himself with the world tree's dagger. Destroy the white star's annual rings of life. Quietly retreat to the back and let the others do the rest of the work. And be a small hero further back.
Clearly, it didn't involve dying along with the White Star after he stabbed himself with the dagger and the white shit exploded. Much less being transported to another world.
Seriously, though, Cale is just a magnet for trouble and chaos everywhere he goes.
