Contains slow burn 'will they/won't they' pale rom, frankly scandalising pale displays, a best friendship for the ages, highly illegal non-quadrant romance, polyamorous non-quadranted romance, inadvisable body mods, poor decisions and revolutionary content. Summary
JC hasn’t had the best of luck with mental health, but after years of work and with a decent support system, they thought they were on the right track. Then Erik nearly died and they found themself slipping back into an old coping mechanism that they had kept hidden for years. They want to move forward, to move past something that makes them feel weak, but it requires letting go of control and grudges, something JC would rather die than do.
This takes place after the whole skinstealing arc with Erik’s dad and picks up at the hosiptal with Erik.

Summary
This whole situation seems like it’s ripped straight out of one of your favorite romance movies. One main character embracing the other in the rain to console them. In this fantasy you can see it ending with the pair passionately sharing a kiss with one another to show their love in the darker arch of the movie. Too bad this isn’t fantasy, though.
The reality is your old high school acquaintance is awkwardly hugging you in light drizzle while the two of you are covered in mud and grass because you’re a shitty little baby who is crying over the fact that Dave wont let you kill yourself. You’ll make sure to add this one to the ever growing collection of “Things that keep me up at night”.

There's a flash of gold and green. For one moment, he finds himself standing amongst the Guardians and others. And then darkness again. It feels like blinking; an extended period of nothingness that ends as abruptly as it begins. One moment there’s nothing, the next there’s light.
