Summary
"Now that's a match made in heaven, isn't it? The miracle worker and the grief expert. I wonder who will win?"
Dr. Castiel Novak is a pediatric oncologist at Seattle Mercy Children's Hospital, lovingly regarded by staff as the "Angel of Mercy" - because he's never lost a patient. Dr. Dean Winchester is a family psychologist and the department's unofficial expert on loss. The two have never met before, but when both are put on the care team for a little boy named Owen Mills, their paths finally cross.(A story about grief. And love. They're the same thing, after all.)

This whole storyverse is comforting, no matter how hard it makes me cry. Child death (fuck cancer, sincerely), grief and coping techniques that are shockingly healthy in a Supernatural fic.

CHUCK WON: An Analysis & Explanation Of Supernatural’s Tragic Finale by chuckwon (alwaysanoriginal)

Summary
This project is a love letter to all who made Supernatural what it is today–its creative team AND its fans.
You do not need any prior knowledge of “Chuck won” as an angle of analysis–or even any prior familiarity with Supernatural meta–
to read this. Knowledge of season 15 is encouraged, but hopefully my descriptions are enough to clue you in or refresh your memory when needed. For a lot of people, chunks of this won't be new to you. That's cool. But I do think there is value in seeing all of the pieces together in one place to create the full picture. Regardless, while the sections and chapters are written to build upon each other in an order, they also stand on their own merit if you want to skim or skip around.
My goal was to make this concept as accessible as possible to anyone who may be interested in it.
Thank you in advance for reading, and I hope you enjoy it :)

Bookmarker's Notes
I have a feeling this should be read cautiously - with all the creature comforts I can muster in close proximity.
Not because I think the author is wrong, but because I have a sneaking suspicion that they're right, and that evaluating the arguments presented will hurt my heart and my head.
However: If I do end up believing that in the show's canon, Chuck did actually win then the cure, of course, to this probable pain will be fluffy smutfics for days. Weeks. Years, even. And then maybe crafting a fix-it fic (and reading ALL the fix-its) that turns that upside down.

Summary
Castiel Novak is an award-winning, heavily tattooed writer of dark fantasy (think China Mieville). Dean Winchester runs a quirky book/video store called Good Books, Bad Movies. There's a reading, some lit-nerd flirting, and eventually smut amongst the shelves.

Summary
Dean’s extended period of self-discovery and inner reflection, of addressing all those fleeting little notions of his that maybe weren’t so little or fleeting after all, had culminated in one inescapable, terrifying fact.
He’s in love with Cas. Hopelessly, completely, embarrassingly in love with him.
They’ve just never had what they needed to explore this before, never had time, solitude, a real moment to breathe.
But they have it now, Dean thinks. He’s made damn sure of that.

This is a really lovely examination of the degrees of trust, vulnerability and intimacy involved in loving someone.

Summary
When Dean takes the brunt of a spell intended to evict Castiel from his vessel, his mind fractures and it falls to Cas and Sam to put him back together—not knowing how many pieces of Dean there are, or which part will come out next. Will it be the innocent child who remembers that angels are watching over him? The Hell-tortured adult who believes he’s not worthy of rescue? The angry hunter who has been betrayed one too many times? Or the lover who no longer has a reason to hold back?
