    A summer in the Philippines was supposed to be Annabeth's last chance to breathe before college—sun-soaked days, old friends, and a much-needed escape.

    Then, weeks before their flight, she and Percy break up.

    The tickets are nonrefundable, the plans are already set, and suddenly she's trapped on vacation with the boy she's still trying to forget. But heartbreak is the least of their problems.

    As the group settles into an old house wrapped in local folklore, strange occurrences begin piling up. Between unraveling friendships, complicated families, and feelings that refuse to stay buried, Annabeth is pulled deeper into a current she can't control.

    But maybe this summer wasn't meant to be an escape. Maybe it's the undertow that carries them back home.
