Summary
Uncle Clem had lived with different children as his owners long enough to recognize certain truths. Children often reflected themselves in the games they imagined. A gentle child rarely pretended cruelty. A generous child seldom loved selfish heroes.
Marcella had spent the better part of handful of days speaking to her newest treasure as though she were already an old friend. She thanked her, asked her opinions, apologized whenever games grew rough.
Clem doubted kindness would be lacking.
Whatever Raggedy Ann proved to be...
He hoped she would almost certainly possess a kind and gentle heart.
