It felt entirely abnormal to walk through a care home with the intention to adopt a child. As if they were shopping for children, rather than trying to do something good.

Summary
The Voyageurs have been on a losing streak almost as long as they haven't had a mascot.
Now that they have a new star center, and things are starting to turn around, they see a chance for investment in a brand new mer: except this one isn't a beautiful mermaid, something weak and soft, but instead a symbol of power, dominance, strength. They go with a shark-type mer, something that represents their rise back to hockey superiority.
Shane Hollander doesn't expect this to have anything to do with him, right up until he realizes that the mer can talk and does not in fact want to be the beloved face of this ancient franchise, and pretty soon, his movie-star/activist best friend has him pulling a heist that threatens not only his hockey career, but the entire social structure of North America.

Summary
You could often tell which mood Shane Hollander was in based on where his dog was in his office.
If he was laying down in his bed beside Hollander’s desk it usually meant that he was relaxed and not expecting any trouble.
If his dog was sitting down next to Hollander, head in his lap, it usually meant Hollander was in a good mood, perhaps celebrating something but not relaxed enough to have his dog completely off guard.
Now where you didn’t want to see Shane Hollander’s dog was standing behind him, fully alert, his sharp eyes scanning the room, ready to attack at a moment's notice. This usually meant your chances of leaving the room were small, this meant the boss was angry and the boss being angry made his dog angry.
Now Shane Hollander’s dog was not an actual dog, but rather a 6ft 6” Russian called Ilya Rozanov.
