Summary
As the platform slowly reached up into the arena, Lucy was surprised to be hit by freezing cold. Everywhere was completely covered with powdery snow, the horrified girl quickly realizing that the Gamemakers had decided to drop the tributes into the middle of a blizzard. The frigid air bit at her fingertips, piercing her gloves and undershirt; She found herself shivering through her thick fur. As the flurries began to clump up onto her coat, she realized she could barely see around the Cornucopia, let alone where her allies could be. Adrenaline shot through her in response, wondering desperately where her friends could reside, thoughts and worries flying through her head.
And then she heard the countdown as it slowly made its way down to zero, somehow echoing louder than the raging storm around the terrified tributes. She readied her stance, prepared to run, waiting with a pounding heart, until she heard the timer count down to finish.
The buzzer sounded.
And then all hell broke loose.

“Hanahaki Disease (花吐き病 (Japanese); 하나하키병 (Korean); 花吐病 (Chinese)) is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough), or when the victim dies.
