Summary
Jon can’t sleep, is too restless for the impending battle. Instead, he wonders the camp, slipping between tents and sleeping men with sword, shield and axe at the ready. It’s a pity, he thinks, that so many of them will be lost to the halls of Valhalla tomorrow. The battle is futile, the plans poorly thought out, and will be more poorly executed despite having the fortune of a wise man on their side. The only way he and his small band of men will make it through tomorrow is if the Gods will it.
He’s about to head back to his tent when he sees a glimmer of white in the corner of his eye. He turns, catching the edge of a robe disappearing behind a tent. He moves carefully, seeking without knowing what he’s looking for.

Summary
Everyone knows that omegas might not be banned from playing in the NHL, but they never get drafted. So when Otter presents as an omega, he kind of just…ignores it. Everyone thinks he’s a beta, and he lets them. He develops a system that works, gets drafted by the Dallas Stars, and goes about his life living his dream.
Mush is an alpha who maybe takes that role more seriously than even hockey. He’s 30, unmated, and maybe a little in love with his best friend, but it’s totally fine. It’s manageable. At least it was, until Otter’s suppressants failed unexpectedly. Now a lot of the quiet parts of his life are becoming very loud.
(Also includes a whole B plot featuring clueless good guy captain Jamie Benn and damaged chaos gremlin Tyler Seguin.)
