Summary
A spin-off/sequel/alternative thing for The Despair in Desire. Wherein Garak did not confess his love to Julian, but bottled up his feelings and tried to forget.
Just days after Julian is rescued from the Dominion prison, he's missing again. This time, Garak knows exactly where he's gone and who has him: Sylva, a creature that feeds on despair by tormenting her victims with the things they fear most, drawn straight from their memories.
Having suffered at her hands himself, Garak is determined to do whatever it takes to rescue Julian, even if it means doing the one thing he never thought he was capable of: telling the truth.
