Who was Neal?
Years and years of painting Van Goghs, Vermeers, and Delacroixs meant that he was incapable of painting a Neal.
Years of being Halden, Donnelly, Bonds, Caffrey.
Neal could barely even be classified as a person anymore, much less an artist.

Summary
Link brushes Zelda’s hair out thoroughly, making sure it is straight before he reaches for the pair of scissors.
He takes the strands between two fingers, a practiced motion from all the time during the Calamity doing his own. The first snip sounds, and golden hair falls slowly to the floorboards.
He begins the next bit, and Zelda closes her eyes. She leans back in the chair, and Link is struck by the trust between them.
He'll be careful with the sharp ends of the scissors, and will make sure that the ends are even.
He loves her. She loves him.

Peter shakes his head.
“Do you remember how you got to that park? Who left you there?”
“Lady, I don’t remember jack shit,” Peter says. “I was like four. No one remembers shit from when they were four.”
