Arguably, being in the 1999 loop should be a cake walk, she's not even getting stabbed that much anymore! Yes she's still in a loop and yes she's still bound within the walls of Höllvania, but all things considered, this should be paradise in comparison to what she once had.
Key word: should.
A lion that has only known a cage, even if given freedom, will still pace the boundaries of that cage.

Summary
Pyke is drifting in through days and weeks, stealing moments of calm and clarity between the heaviness on his mind and on his soul. He's a Disciple of Alara the Lightbringer, something that is as ingrained in him as his name, but he feels disconnected from her and from himself.
Or: Snippets in time where Pyke finds back to his faith, finds worship in beauty and creation, and finally finds back to himself. Accompanied by the people he loves, and a desire to finally love himself again.

Pyke does not want to be here. In this cell, in this prison, in this stupid fucking sector— he'd rather be anywhere, anywhere else. He tries to keep his head down, plans to keep himself out of trouble for the months he's going to be in this hellhole, for Rett's sanity if nothing else... but it only lasts a single day. He never was good at laying low.
Ko does not want to be here. She's been in this prison for far, far too long, and would love nothing more than to get the fuck out of here— to beat up some more assholes and eat up all of Mrs. Ume's delicious cooking. And so, she's trying to keep to herself, trying to appease the guards and stay on everyone's good graces... and it was working, too. If only her new Solari cellmate had kept his stupid fucking mouth shut.

Summary
Capitano cannot name the reason he is so concerned for the girl, other than there being a strange sort of kinship between them. They are both remnants of a nation ages past, by very little intention or agency of their own. They both have an acute longing for freedom from the knife which twists them into their respective shapes, and are both perfectly aware that the only freedom they will get will come in death.
This, and- well. She is a child. He is not heartless. Simple math.
He has to do something. If his two options are to kill her now or to pawn off the responsibility of her death on the Snezhnayan state, he must invent a third.

Summary
Not to brag, but Lloyd's life is pretty great.
He has great friends who care about him, the entire city loves him, and people even call him a hero.
Of course this only applies when he's an entirely different person, but that's irrelevant.
Either way, it's still awesome when he's the cities hero, The Green Ninja.
And maybe people absolutely hate his guts otherwise, but that's honestly a tiny insignificant detail.
