“Tongari,” Wolfwood manages, “y’couldn’t hurt me if you tried.”
“Always underestimating me,” Vash tuts. His hand moves in Wolfwood’s peripheral, slow, like Wolfwood will spook if he goes any faster. When he doesn’t, Vash’s palm moulds itself against Wolfwood’s cheek, warm through the leather of his glove. His fingers are long enough to brush Wolfwood’s pulse point, where he can feel his own heart continuing to race. That same prey instinct. And when Vash tips Wolfwood’s head back, face upright, he can just barely make out the sharpness of Vash’s features through the fuzziness of his vision.
Wolfwood is only human.
“The way you look at me sometimes,” Wolfwood gasps. “I want—”
“Hey,” Vash responds at once. His hand slides back to Wolfwood’s nape, fingers threading through his hair.

Summary
Haven isn’t a place where you’d expect miracles to happen, so when Vash arrives with Meryl and Milly, he’s expecting a quiet few days to relax while the girls research their next story. He’s not prepared to find Nicholas D. Wolfwood, the man he mourned and buried two years ago, moving and breathing and very much alive. And also missing all of his memories.
To Nico, Haven is home. He might not remember his past or the kind of person he was before he stumbled into Haven’s welcoming arms, but he’s happy. Sometimes, he’s not sure he wants to know any of that seeing as his first memory is digging himself out of the grave. But when Vash the Stampede comes to town, he raises all kinds of questions about who Nico really is and he’s determined to get answers. Even if the idiot keeps trying to dodge him.
A story about finding home, rediscovering love, and finally using your blank ticket to the future.

In the Book of Genesis, God had made the Garden of Eden. A paradise for Adam and Eve. A Heaven that wasn’t quite just Heaven, but spiritually blissful all the same—but the fruit that they ate had been forbidden, and God had punished them to live painfully human lives.
Vash always thought the story was a little strange—why did God put the fruit there if they weren’t supposed to eat it in the first place?
“It was a test, dummy,” Nai said.
“But… a test on what? They didn’t know any better.”
“They had free will. It was a test to see if they’d listen, obviously,” his brother turned away to continue reading.
Vash had gone quiet for a moment.
“Was it such a bad thing, though?” he hadn’t meant to say it outloud—but it came out anyway.
“Huh?”
“The… The knowledge of good and bad?”
