Summary
There should have been nothing strange about it, it happened that people became infatuated with their best friend, that they tried to form a rather close bond with those they were closest to and could understand, but Damian had felt a terrible sensation in the pit of his stomach and had tried to stifle everything as soon as he realized these feelings for Jon.
Had he succeeded? Of course not. He had tried to play it cool, yes, he had even tried to convince himself that he had simply found in Jon a loving but different figure from his brothers and his father, and that therefore his so-called "crush" was nothing more than simple gratitude for being accepted for who he was; And yet the stolen glances for a few moments, Jon's big blue eyes - with that slight violet tint like his mother, Damian had noticed when he got a little too close - that seemed to shine under the stars, the smile so warm it made the sun pale, and the brisk, protective air that emanated from him, had only created more turmoil in Damian, throwing the obviousness of the facts in his face.
