Summary
Weiying realizes that he accidentally traveled back in time, or so it seems, when he wakes up in Lotus Pier and sees himself exactly as he remembered before the Wen attacked. But if he traveled through time, why does Jiang Cheng appear older than he remembered, and why is there a version of himself around the age of 30 still wearing the disciples' uniform of the Jiang Sect?
Then he discovers that the Wen's attack and the campaign to bring down the sun never happened. This means he never became the Yiling Patriarch, he never died or came back to life, and he never was with Lan Zhan.
Now he has to figure out how to return, but should he just leave, or should he encourage his counterpart in this universe to reunite with Lan Zhan?

The Yiling Laozu broke their staring contest first. He threw his head back and started laughing. “I see. So Hanguang-jun managed to drag me here.”
He shakily stood and gave Wei Ying an insincere smile. It was grating. “You must be Hanguang-jun’s omega. Funny, I’ve never heard about his mating ceremony or anything about you. If I had, I would’ve prepared a gift.” He stepped closer and cocked his head. “But why would he let the Yiling Laozu be in the presence of his sweet and precious omega alone, hm?”
Wei Ying’s hackles rose. Gods, was he really like this before? Wei Ying had never wanted to strangle himself more.
He would if he didn’t recognize his own heartbreak in the face he hadn’t seen in a long time.
