They had tried nearly everything to get him back to Maddie: going through their scars at the same time, running past the border, even Janet crossing over in an attempt to return him to his life. And, fuck. He would never forgive himself for that.
It wasn’t a fault of the ghosts, they didn’t know any more than him about how to get him back. It was new territory for everyone and he could tell they were trying their absolute best. They would do anything for Maddie and, if getting Simon home was what she wanted, that’s what would happen.
It’s just… he needed to try something new, a different strategy. But what would work that the ghosts themselves didn’t think of? They knew everything he did about his being stuck at Split River High.

Summary
Welcome to episode 6 (!) of my School Spirits Season 3 concept! Clearly, I just needed to give myself a firm deadline because I am TRUCKING. If you haven't read my previous works (Deader Than Ever, How To Get Away With Dying, Six Feet Further, I Know How You Died Last Summer, and A Scar Is Born) you might be missing some context and be horribly confused. I am horribly confused and I wrote it. But come on it anyway! I think it's fun nonetheless!
Most of this is a push/pull between the living and the dead. The interactions that tie us to who we left behind, and how to get back to those people, if only in a memory or an indirect manner. People act as networks and expand into a web that crosses all of Split River.
