Akira is flailing, fingers curled into claws that reach for but just barely connect with Goro’s mask. “I can… handle this—my… self…,” he whines, the ailment dissolving again and a weak, determined desperation flooding the gaps. Goro’s thumbs shift sideways to haul him up and slam him back into the ground. He’s yelling, now, and it’s lilting into something just as desperate, almost as afraid.
“Stop. You’re killing yourself. You can’t suppress this amount of—”
“—I’m gonna kill you.”

Summary
After a long slog through Sae's palace, Akira decides to take a little time to himself to fuse new Personas. When he exits the Velvet Room, he finds Akechi waiting for him. They conflict over Akechi's secrecy and decide it's best to just leave. However, they find they cannot. An enemy is afoot, and Akechi's shadow has plans to unveil all the secrets Akechi keeps tucked away and out of Akira's sight.

Summary
The pale line of smoke floating off the burning tip is entrancing, the way it’s held so comfortably between Goro’s fingers as if an extension of his body. There’s a sensation to it all that Ren can’t quite describe.
“Answer me.” Goro demands, causing Ren to utter the first thought he has.
“Can you put that out on me?”Or; 1 year post-canon and Ren is grappling with all the issues that come with being in love with Goro Akechi. Well, not really all of them, mainly just the fact that he can't focus on anything past the gorgeous burn scar down the man's side or his one clouded eye or the cigarette placed divinely between his gloved fingers or- It's a lot of things, really.
