Summary
For centuries, an ancient coven of devil-worshipping witches has preyed upon child victims for their sacrificial rites. Sam and Dean are after them, but as the investigation leads Dean in the wrong place at the wrong time, the coven makes sure neither he nor his brother will cause them any further trouble. They transform Dean back into his child self, leave him in the mountains in a small cardboard box in freezing temperatures and give Sam a choice: he can come for his brother, or he can chase the witches and leave him to die.
With no guarantee that his brother will ever be back to his old self, Sam takes Dean back to the motel and begins caring for him - but neither of them knows what to expect of the coming weeks.

He asks if Clover is alone, his voice accented and thick and a little too loud, as if unused to the clarity that the air provides. Clover winces, blanches, says yes.
When Clover asks him, words formed painstakingly through a ragged, hoarse throat, where Qrow calls home, he can only respond with a flick of his tail, a splash immediately swallowed by the endless tide beyond.
Clover nods. Then, he points upwards. "Home," he breathes.
Qrow understands. This creature has been abandoned, too.

Summary
Clover is a fisherman in the village of Vale, blessed with good catch after saving a merperson from a sea monster that one time, you know how it is. So he always has fish to sell, and even some to give away to the crow that spends a lot of time on the docks terrorizing seagulls and the occasional knight, presumably for fun. They work out something of an agreement. Clover brings food, and the crow keeps the seagulls from shitting on his head, because not even good luck can avoid that.
[Qrow is cursed. Clover helps, falls in love, and gets in his own way. This entire thing started as just thinking about curses, and ended by deciding I wanted to include a meme in the sixth-to-last paragraph. I regret nothing.]
