Summary
Vash almost dies, accidentally flirts with his best friend, has a crisis, almost dies some more, fucks his best friend on purpose, and nearly gets everything he wants. Not necessarily in that order.
Or, in other words: a complicated innuendo involving Chekov’s gun.

Summary
“Kiss me,” Wolfwood says, and he sounds drunk, blood loss, pleasure. Kiss me. Just this once. If this is going to be the end, let me have this.
It isn’t going to be the end, not yet, not for either of them. It doesn’t stop Vash from closing the distance and kissing Wolfwood for the first time in years.
The breath they take is shared, a gasp as one. Vash’s ears ring, energy surging from his hand around them in an explosion of blue, as Wolfwood grabs the back of his head and desperately slips his tongue in Vash’s mouth. It feels like agony—like cauterization, like revelation, like looking upon the face of God. This time, when the wing unfurls from Vash’s back, he does not scream.

Summary
Vash is limping.
Wolfwood hadn’t realized that at first, not until about an hour into their trek.
(Or, Vash gets shot in the leg. Wolfwood carries him.)
