Summary
Suddenly, her window was thrown open, and she turned quickly, eyes wide with panic. She was petrified with fear as she saw something just outside her window. It was a black-gloved hand. Its long fingers reached through the window and gripped the frame. Then, another gloved hand grabbed the other side.
Something was coming in.
She threw back her sheets as she sprinted towards her bedroom door. When she got close enough, she threw her arm out as her eyes focused on the doorknob; they strained so hard that her eyes hurt. She was quick, but he was faster.
She felt something warm wrap around her ankle and tug. She screamed as she hit the floor, and the wind was knocked from her lungs. Gasping for air, Hermione was dragged backwards on her stomach, hands reaching for the escape she’d been so close to.
Nothing could save her now.

A few days ago, Narcissa had been notified that her dear sister had been found in the backyard by the lake. She was kneeling at the edge of the water, crying hysterically as she dug desperately through the mud. The sludge was caked up her arms, coating her dress, and splattered in her hair. They had said she looked wild and deranged. Her eyes were wide and unblinking as tears fell freely. Her body was wracked with sobs as she mumbled nonsensically into the earth, saying the same things over and over again like a prayer.
Bella hadn’t been her usual self since the incident several months prior.

Draco bit back a scoff. “You actually want to bet something the first time you play?”
“Afraid you’ll lose to me like you do to Hermione?” The darkness in Tom’s eyes deepened as he glanced at the witch appraisingly.
“Please, I’m merely concerned you’ll be a sore loser. Not having much experience with it on the whole.” He smiled fawningly but gave it a bit of teeth. “The first time might sting.”
“Is that so?” His words were so low, Draco barely registered them. “Well, if you're so confident, Malfoy, let’s make this interesting.” Tom’s gaze pierced Hermione. “If I win, I get her. For the night.”
