Summary
Ok so the first chapter can be read as a oneshot. The rest are flashback stories meant to be read like memories that show how James Potter and Regulus Black arrived at their destination.
James Potter, as is the case with most athletes, was a slave to ritual, as superstitious as they come. He would knock on his broom handle thrice before leading his team onto the pitch. He would energize his team with a rousing pre-game speech. He had his lucky Quidditch socks, red and gold, the colours of Gryffindor House.
Regulus Black has no such socks.
At the very moment I will drop you off at, neither man was wearing any socks, red and gold or otherwise.
