Summary
When their attempts to recreate the super soldier serum failed, Hydra started trying to breed Captain America clones from his genetic samples. Unfortunately, the serum's effects aren't passed down genetically, so instead of an army of tiny Captain Americas, they get a bunch of tow-headed, asthmatic, allergic, immuno-compromised little Steves.
And then the Winter Soldier stumbles across Hydra's failed experiment...

Swanwick gave Bruce a level, unamused look. "Mr. Wayne," he said. "Please tell me you know why you're here."
Bruce shrugged. "Won the lottery, and first-place prize is the government marries me off to an alien."
(Or: in a universe where Krypton took an extra thirty-odd years to implode, Kal-El was sent to Earth as an adult, in advance of the ship containing the only other surviving Kryptonians; and a quirk of Kryptonian law means negotiating refuge, potential resettlement, and an alliance with the Kryptonians in general is dependent on marriage between a Kryptonian and a human. Bruce did what it took to make sure that that human would be him, instead of some poor unprepared civilian—but his efforts to learn more about the aliens, what they want and why they're here, and how, if necessary, to kill them ... don't go the way he's expecting them to.)

Summary
When Viktor blinks himself awake one morning with a distinct sense of wrongness he attributes it first to the immediate awareness that he is in Jayce's bedroom. In Jayce's bed. He knows exactly the contents of his desk and how the paintings are hung on his walls. And he knows for certain the rich scent of Jayce filling his lungs.
It takes him an additional minute after waking to realise where the sense of wrongness actually comes from.
When he stumbles to the mirror, it feels like he might be looking through it. Into the living room. Into some other part of the apartment. Because his mind simply cannot process what he's seeing otherwise.
The face staring back at him isn't his own. It's Jayce's.

Marat's romance scene feels extremely rushed to me. The way Coen backs away from the kiss but then changes his mind and they jump straight into sex so casually, the way they later discuss it and Coen explains his sexuality like it's nothing in a way that feels so modern. It left a bad taste in my mouth, especially because of how much wasted potential I could see. Because if you instead reject Marat, there's this line you can choose:
"Men... I... I've never even considered it. Didn't know you could do it."
And I loved it, because Coen isn't saying he dislikes men, he's admitting he never saw it as a possibility. It makes a lot of sense that a bisexual man like him could hide, even from himself, in his attraction to women, and reframe his male crushes as close friendships in his mind. He can carry out a normal life because the alternative is unthinkable, unlike a gay man like Marat who is forced to face it. So this one shot is my attempt to rewrite the scene by exploring this concept further.

Summary
Loki, the third prince of Jotunheim, finds himself having to reluctantly escort the crown prince of Asgard and his companions around the palace of Utgard during the first visit to Jotunheim by Asgardians in a generation. Thor initially proves less arrogant and oafish than Loki had expected, but then apparently reveals his true nature with a demeaning order that Loki serve him in bed.
Loki feels that he has no choice but to comply with a smile on his face, as to displease Thor could mean that the Casket of Winters would continue to be held hostage in far-away Asgard. Loki is just as desperate to have it returned as his father, Laufey-king, is, even if their reasons for wanting it returned are different. Loki will acquiesce to being Thor's bedwarmer and anything else that is required of him as long as it means keeping the favour of the spoiled enemy prince.
And he has to admit to himself that he's not entirely opposed to being bedded by the golden-haired foreigner. However, the outcome is not what he would have wished for, and his problems with the prince of Asgard are just beginning.
