Summary
So, I was thinking to myself - what if the gang had been able to sort Chuck and whatever number apocalypse they were at WITHOUT Cas having to dramatically (& beautifully might I add) confess his feelings to trigger the deal with The Shadow? What would have happened if Cas no longer had any reasons not to be truly happy, except the threat of being dragged to The Empty dangling over his head; which is a weight he of course chooses to carry alone? Dean letting his guard down when everything is finally over and getting closer to Cas really doesn't help either.
Join me, thus, in an adventure - a hunt, and a bizarre one at that - which will reveal Cas' desperate mesures to stay alive, test the limits of Dean's patience when his angel stops talking to him for no reason, uncover centuries-old friendships and well-kept secrets, and explore the nature of psychic abilites. All of it while, for good mesure, keeping Sammy firmly perched at the edge of his sanity.

"I know," Castiel murmurs, still just smiling a little, not looking heartbroken at all. "Don't worry about it, Dean, that's all I ask."
"So we're—" Dean risks a glance up, swallowing thickly. "We're good?"

Summary
After the sun is restored and the Woman of Letters banishes Castiel, he falls and becomes human, lost and alone in a place far from home. Four hundred and fifty-one days later, Sam finds him.
He tells Castiel that Dean is alive.
So they go. They go and they arrive at the bunker and Sam’s acting strange and there’s something that he’s not telling Castiel, something about Dean.
And then Castiel finally reunites with Dean.
And there is something about Dean.
Something about Dean that has Dean pulling Castiel into tight embraces, something about Dean that has Dean running his thumb across Castiel’s cheek with a tender look in his eyes, and something about Dean that has Dean shaking when Castiel says certain things to him, things that are normal, things that should not affect him this way.
There is something about Dean that no one is telling him.
