Zoro feels like a matchstick. Luffy is the box.
Their reunion at Saobody Archipelago goes a little differently, because Luffy keeps making Zoro sleep in his bed, and it's all kinda confusing, and Zoro doesn't know what it means. Does he have anything to lose by confessing?

‘Friends with benefits,’ Nami echoes slowly. ‘That's what you're calling it?’ Eyebrows raised, she makes it seem like the wrong answer. Zoro frowns at her.
‘Fuck buddies?’ he hazards.
Nami closes her eyes for a very long moment and sighs through her nose.
Zoro and Luffy have a friends with benefits thing going on. It's a lot of fun, with no potential for confusion at all.

Summary
The thing about Zoro, Nami thinks to herself, is that he's a pretty transparent guy if you pay attention. Like how he stares at Luffy, and smiles about Luffy, then looks away and frowns like he's mad at himself. And like how he's very obviously been telling himself that Luffy's not interested in certain things, even as Luffy ogles him relentlessly and says stuff like, Zoro, are you getting too hot working out in that t-shirt? You look really hot.
The Straw Hats get drunk. Things are shared, and over-shared. There are ramifications.
