Not for demons. We all know that.”The other boys all shifted a bit uncomfortably, but they gave small nods of agreement nonetheless.
“We don’t even have our own souls,” Abby said, eyes off to the side.
“You shouldn’t let that stop you from living a better life,” Rumi said. “You have the chance for something more, an opportunity to be better, so you should take it. Don’t let this pass you by.”
Baby scoffed again and crossed his arms. “It’ll be a waste of all our time.”
“Well, even if it is, then at least you can say that you tried."

Baby rolls his eyes.
"I don't feel any better. Also—" a cough, "You're a shit nurse. And rude."

Baby hasn’t taken his eyes off of it for a while. Rumi taps her nail against the counter, a jittery feeling in her system, and finds herself asking, “Are you sure it’s his?”
“I think after hundreds of years of knowing the guy, I can recognize his soul.” Baby replies, sharp and brittle. Every word out of his mouth since the Idol Awards has been like that, so Rumi tries not to take it personally.
She supposes, if she watched her ex that she still had feelings for sacrifice himself in front of her, she might not feel like being friendly either.
(Or a world in which Jinu holds feelings for both Rumi and his ex, Baby, the pair are forced to grapple with his sacrifice, and each other, when it’s all said and done.)
