Summary
Atlas May’s parties were well-known glamorous affairs, but it was rare that any were held outside of the security of Lackadaisy speakeasy’s underground event hall. The singular exception was independence day.
The May mansion was far enough from St. Louis proper that one could risk a few bottles of champagne in the open, especially since the police commissioner and his wife were known to love the annual festivities. Besides, only the mansion had enough open property for Atlas’s beloved fireworks spectacle.
So, for one muggy summer evening each year, the band set up in the grand ballroom on the manor’s second floor and champagne was discreetly poured and distributed through the night.

Summary
There's an odd girl at the back of the throng.
To the casual eye, she looks completely average. She wears the same soft cream and dull yellow uniform of the other girls around her. She is small and slight, and her cheeks are dotted with freckles. Among the other palace girls surrounding her, she blends in perfectly. She could be any girl from any far-flung village of Li.
But her eyes—they are what catch his attention. They are what draw him in.
Or: Snapshots of Jinshi and Maomao, throughout the years--of their scars, their mistakes, and a little red string that endures through it all. An exploration of love, fate, and the choices we make, told in twenty-six parts.

Summary
Aoi raised her hands in surrender. “I know. I'm not trying to prove you're dating the Drifter. I just got the vibe that you might. That's all.”
He stared at his food. “Well, I'm not.”
Silence descended upon them. Far from relaxing him, it only served to wound him up tighter. He knew when a storm was coming; the wait was, in his humble opinion, worse than the destruction it wrought.
Thankfully, Aoi didn't leave him to his misery for long.
“But you do like them,” she said.
---
Arthur's afraid that his bond with the Drifter will get in the way of his duties. But when a mission goes wrong and his misguided sense of responsibility threatens to split the Hex apart, it ends up becoming the very thing that saves them.

Summary
Olruggio brushes his thumb over Qifrey’s cheek. “Why do you look like you’re in pain every time you kiss me?"
Qifrey shudders. “…That is love, for me.” He smiles. “And I want it. And I’m sorry.”
When Olly is commissioned to make a young couple's engagement gift, he also makes a spare, just to practice.
