That was enough to cut short Suho's nervous monologue. Despite his heart hammering loudly in his chest, he could hear the news presenter clearly now.
"18 bodies have been recovered from the rubble since the tunnel collapsed around 10 this morning. Experts say the horrible tragedy—"
The images blurred on the screen. He couldn't breathe.
It couldn't be.
"Tell me you’re not in that tunnel," Sieun breathed out, hollow.
OR: Sieun comes home to 87 missed calls from Suho. When he finally answers, Suho sounds like nothing is wrong—teasing and almost casual enough to be convincing. Sieun only slowly realizes that Suho isn’t on his way home, but trapped under a collapsed tunnel with a dying phone and something he has been circling around for years but never managed to say out loud.

"...Yuuji?"
Yuuji stops dead in his tracks, turning around and meeting the green eyes he's only seen in his dreams for the last 5 years. He tries to say something, but he can't think of anything, so he just dumbly stares, mouth agape.
Megumi's shocked expression is quickly replaced with anger. "What the fuck? Like actually? What's wrong with you?"
"I-I'm sorry. I'll just... go..." Yuuji turns around, but a hand grips his arm, keeping him in place.
"No."
He looks at Megumi confused.
"No, you're not leaving me. Not again." His face is stone hard, stubbornly devoid of emotion, which- even after years of not talking- Yuuji knows means he's suppressing an overload of bitter feelings, and rightfully so.
"I'm sorry. You know I had to."
"No Yuuji. Fuck, we were right there. We were trying to help you. I needed you and you left," he takes in a shaky breath. "I still need you."

5 years after graduation, two former more than just best friends see each other for the first time again, unsure how to pick things up from where they left off.

Summary
Suho didn’t have a university lined up for him like Sieun did, claiming he was done with school. He wanted to move higher up in Halmoeni’s restaurant. His grandmother was getting older, couldn’t always get around and take care of the place, he was going to drop his other jobs and put all his time into her store.
They were growing up. Changing and moving on to different responsibilities. Moving away from one another…
But, at least they had the summer together.
“You know I’m leaving in two days, right?” It was a miracle Sieun didn’t stumble over the air itself and that the feeling of his heart dropping wasn’t somehow audible.
Leaving, since when?
Or
Sieun is supposed to be preparing for his life in a new city attending Yonsei University.
Instead, he joins Suho for a summer in Jeju Island to visit his estranged family.
