Summary
At the mention of Asami, Korra perks up. “How is she?”
Tenzin glances at her with a secretive smile.
“I’m under strict orders to not answer that question. However, I wasn’t told I couldn’t tell you she asked the same.”
“We’re literally on the same island,” Korra says, exasperated, even though the argument is old by now and clearly useless. “I don’t understand why we can’t see each other until tomorrow.”
(Or: it's the day before Korra and Asami's wedding and they're not allowed to see each other. They agreed to it. It's only a few hours, they can make it, right?)

Summary
“You’ve met my parents before, remember? Multiple times,” Korra clarifies, carefully making her way forward, as if Asami was a wounded polar-bear dog that might spook if she moves too quickly. “They already love you ‘Sami. This is more of a weird formality thing than anything else.”
Korra tries her best to wave off those nerves that Asami is feeling, although judging by the wild-eyed look she gets in return from her girlfriend, it doesn’t have the intended effect.
“But they’ve never met me as your girlfriend before!” Asami gets out, quickly continuing her train of thought before Korra can argue with her. “Don’t say it’s not different, because it absolutely is, Korra,” she disputes, Korra raising an eyebrow but being unable to hide the smirk on her face as Asami just shakes her head.
“I know that’s what you’re going to say, so don’t even try it.”
“We really know each other that well, huh?” Korra teases, taking the plunge and stepping forward so that she can intertwine their fingers together.

Summary
They just don’t….they don’t get it. They don’t know the way that Korra’s arms would subtly flex when she was talking to someone and felt that she had to prove herself, or the way that her eyes would absolutely sparkle when she was delighted by something. They don’t know the weight of the world, of four nations, that Korra carried on her shoulders, or the way that she’d frown sometimes when she was thinking about a decision she'd made.
Asami knows those things.
She wishes that she had time to know even more.
(Asami adjusts to a life without Korra after she goes back to the Southern Water Tribe, and stumbles along the way.)

Summary
Asami lets out a little ‘oof’ as her back hits the wall, and it’s so adorable, even if Korra’s mind is currently somewhere decidedly less innocent. Namely, all the other sounds that she knows that Asami can make.
“You have to…..game,” Asami stammers, and it never ceases to amaze Korra that she has this type of influence on her. Because seriously, just look at Asami.
“I have time,” Korra says softly, and even she can hear how gravely and wrecked her voice is. They haven’t even done anything yet, but it’s just hitting her deep in the core of her very being, the fact that Asami’s wearing her ‘jersey’ and has her name across her back.
Like she’s Korra’s.
