Summary
Gotham was a city of shadows and pain, and Bruce knew it well. He also knew it should not be as harsh as it was. If Bruce must become a creature of shadows and pain in his own right in order to heal what was broken in his city, he would. And one by one, his family would follow him into the breach.
As for Gotham herself? For her champions, she would give of everything she was so they have the strength to provide hope to her children.
(Or, the Batfamily begins to form, and becomes more eldritch by the year.)

Summary
On the list of people that Jason would like to stay the fuck away from Dick Grayson, Slade Wilson ranks higher than nearly any other name. So of course the mercenary shows up at the most inconvenient time possible. After all, the last thing anyone wants, when they are undercover, is for someone to walk in who knows the person underneath the mask.
With Dick understandably preoccupied with the unwanted visitor, it falls to Jason to smooth over the holes in the Neal Caffrey cover. It's never been his strong suit, and he'd much prefer to put his fist through Wilson's face, but he'll make it work.

Summary
Chuck and Amara weren't the only ones in the beginning, and Chuck was not the only one to create archangels. That information wouldn't be important, except that one of those other archangels is still alive by the time the apocalypse rolls around, and she is understandably less than thrilled by the idea.
Aquilarah usually keeps to herself. She'd made a life as Hecate, the Greek goddess of magic, and only barely kept in touch with the others of her kind. She had sat back and stayed out of things during the war in Heaven, had done nothing more than observed as Michael and Raphael pulled back from the host, and had said nothing to anyone of Gabriel's presence in the pagan world. She did her best to be at least a somewhat neutral party between Heaven and Hell; Michael and Lucifer.
But the apocalypse? No, that was the last straw. It was time for this ridiculous quarrel between her cousins to end, even if she has to tear Chuck's manuscript apart herself. (Though she'll save that as a last resort).

Summary
Agent Grayson, Justice League liaison and consultant to the FBI, was fun. He was mostly real, a bit of Dick Grayson, a bit of Nightwing, a character for Dick to play while the knives he tossed above his head reminded him that everything was temporary. He could juggle aliases all he liked, but they would not stay in the air forever.
He knew that Agent Grayson was bound to falter eventually—he just hadn’t quite expected the knives to come tumbling down in quite such a dramatic way.
Or
Dick Grayson finally tells the White Collar crew that he's Nightwing in typically dramatic circumstancesSeries

Summary
"He had a plan set, in case any of the Justice League or Waynes showed up at the office for a case. Neal would just discover he had food poisoning or the flu. Cases didn’t take that long to complete once the JLA was called in. A meeting about a case only lasted an hour or so. It would be fine. He hadn’t planned for one of them to become his fucking co-worker though. So, he sat stiffly in his seat, knowing that the end of the line was coming. Knowing that when Grayson saw him things would irrevocably change in his life. It felt a whole lot like being at the tip of a sword."
Or Neal has a secret backstory that nobody but himself knows. Unfortunately for him, it's all about to be exposed.
