Summary
Etho had just wined about traveling to bDubs halfheartedly over the communicator, while still refusing to use an elytra. It did actually annoy him at the moment, as he didn't want to bring his donkey into the nether with him, but going from one portal to another, even with the pathways, would have been too long of a journey, especially given the fact that he wanted to use one of the farther ones, wanting to get to the other side of the map quickly to trade resources.
So one can imagine his surprise when suddenly a pair of arms grabbed him from behind, and yanked him up from where he was sitting in the saddle with all the force and speed of a rocket, a heartily laugh getting lost behind them in the wind, as he startled outwardly a moment later.

Hyper lowered his head into his hands as he sat down into a corner, not bothering to even try and fix the window that was still as loud as ever. He started hearing those whispers again, just at the edge of his consciousness, just loud enough to be a mere whisper now, to be barely, but nonetheless heard.
He wasn’t suicidal, not really. But that didn’t mean he always thought he really deserved to be still kicking, either. Or that he never thought of death.

he sighed loudly, before addressing Ban. -”Since we know each other, can I drop the formalities?”
The warden was taken aback by the question, but grinned as he answered.
.”What? Not knowing your manners around your peers, young man?” Sling chuckled at that, albeit somewhat tired sounding. Ban found it to be nice. The added layer of maturity looked good on him.

But they were still vastly different. He wouldn’t have been satisfied with them just knowing him as a friend. It was all or nothing with all of them.
But the last intern… he would’ve been fine if he just got to see the man every other month or so, just so he knew the other was still thriving, that he was still there, alive and warm, like on the day he killed him.

Summary
But now, the longer he stared at the newbie’s cross, the more he wondered. Would it make any difference at all? It wasn’t like it could disappoint them any more than they already are, right? He didn’t really think anything would happen.
But it was always worth a try.
OR
Colleague was never religious and didn't really believed in miracles. But after months of being trapped, anything that has the smallest chance of getting them out of there should be tried at least once, right?
