All of the weird comments and questions Eun-ho had dismissed as Eun-gyeol’s usual absent-mindedness came rushing to the surface. Why had he not recognized their parents’ friends, as if Uncle Hyun-yul hadn’t been the first to gift him a guitar when he learned of Eun-gyeol’s talent for it and Uncle Ma-joo wasn’t Dad’s closest friend as well as Eun-gyeol’s literal boss? Why had he searched up their mother of all people? Why did he stare at the family portrait in the hall as if he had no memory of how it got there?
OR
In which Eun-gyeol is struggling to adjust to his new life and move past the events of 1995, Eun-ho just wants to know what’s going on with his little brother, and everyone is worried.

An unexpected boon of taking this winding, backroad path, was the silence.
It was as though she’d stepped into an alien world devoid of all signs of civilization. Her footsteps echoed throughout the trees every time she crunched on a twig, the slightest brush of her boots on rocks and firm earth sending sound bouncing wildly between the trunks. The clinking and swaying of her supplies on her back made her a beacon of idle noise, and the resulting rustles of startled animals racing through the brush were always loud enough to make her flinch.
She was the only living person around for miles, both ahead and behind. It was just her, the birds, the bugs, and the crunch of dirt beneath her heels.
The infected, by nature of their desperate, sickened state, were quite noisy. As such, it would be immensely difficult to catch her by surprise in this kind of environment.
This was how Maomao knew she was being followed.

Or, while wandering the ruins of a nation overrun with zombifying parasites, Maomao gets herself a weirdly benign stalker. Somehow, things go better than expected.
