“I was wondering when you were going to come back.” Her voice was light, teasing maybe. She wasn’t mad, even though her words could easily have double meanings enough to suggest as much. “What did you grab for lunch?” She turned, smiling, but her face paled at the sight of him. “Hunter?”
Hunter hadn’t brought his staff with him. Uncle had been particularly upset with him after his last performance review, as evidenced by the way Hunter’s collarbone still ached at any sudden movement. He’d wanted to make sure that Hunter wasn’t becoming overly reliant on the crutch. Still, he brought his fists up and sunk into a loose defense position. His lack of a mask made him feel exceptionally vulnerable, but he did his best to school his expression into something firm. “How do you know my name?”
“You’re so young,” she mumbled. She paused, then moved to stand so quickly that Hunter couldn’t help but flinch back. “Oh! Don’t be scared.” With a sharp grin, she added, “I only smite those who dare to oppose my loved ones!”
Or, pre-canon Hunter time travels forward to meet the post-canon Hexsquad. Things can't change, and they know that. That doesn't make it hurt any less.

After months of being together, they hadn't done anything but cuddle and kiss... this was all so new, Hunter had no clue what he was doing. In all honesty, neither did Edric. At the same time, neither wanted to even begin to stop.
As the kiss continued to deepen, the passion only continued to grow. Hunter's breathing had hitched into a hot, shaky mess. Not a single word had been uttered between the two of them since the beginning, but that wasn't taken as a sign to stop by either of them.
Suddenly hands wrapped around Hunter's hips and before he knew it, he was on top of Edric. That idiot had forced him onto his lap... Hunter's broke off of the kiss, his cheeks going red and his ears tilting down a bit, the tips going red as well.
"Edric, you dumb ass- what the hell do you think you're doing?" he grumbled, more flustered than truly upset.
"Putting you on my lap- what, you wanna stop now?" The witch grinned, but his voice had an undertone of seriousness still.
"...I guess not, but at least warn me first!" he rolled his eyes, moving back to kiss him again.
