Summary
Ed Teach is a master at breakups. He even has a whole ritual for getting over someone by getting under someone else. But when he goes out looking for some meaningless rebound sex, he’s not expecting to meet the love of his life: Stede Bonnet.
Six months later, though, Stede is gone and Ed’s still trying to figure out how to put himself back together. He heads to his favorite bar, hoping The Ritual will fix him. Only, there’s a familiar face there waiting for him, and he wants Ed back.

Summary
“Hello?” Stede calls out as he approaches the spot he thinks the crash happened, hoping he isn’t about to be attacked by whatever is making the pained little squawks he can hear coming from a tall tuft of grass. “I’m going to come over to help, and it would be very rude to attack me while I’m doing that.”
Stede sets his lantern down on the ground so both his hands are free to push the grass aside: there, curled up in a bit of a heap, is a tall crane with an injured wing. The crane has gorgeous glossy feathers in shades of what look to be black and dark gray, though it’s hard to be certain at this time of night, and a golden plume of feathers on its head that look like a spiky sort of crown. It’s also looking at Stede with incredibly intelligent eyes, like it knows what’s happening here.
Unfortunately for the bird, Stede *also* knows what’s happening here.
“Oh, no you don’t!” he says, letting go of the grass so it engulfs the crane as he steps back. “I see what you’re trying to do! This is a Crane Wife situation, and I most certainly do not need another one of those.”

Summary
Ed lets himself think about it. Immerses himself in the candlelight flicker of it all, the steely glow of the moon through arched windows. The vulnerable peek of Stede’s throat under that black turtleneck, the shape of his back, his shoulderblades, the obscene curve of his waist, the radiating heat of him. The bed nook. He never got to sink inside Stede there, but his knife almost did.
(or: For totally innocent reasons, Stede wants to know just exactly how Ed was planning to murder him.)

Summary
In the Last Year, 1718, the Seas Witnessed the Deaths of Two of the Worst Menaces to Sail. The Pirates Edward Teach, commonly Known as Blackbeard, and Stede Bonnet, also the Gentleman Pirate, once Captained Together before the ultimate Capture of Bonnet in October. By November, the dread Blackbeard was Killed in Battle; not a Month after, the Gentleman Pirate was Hanged for his Crimes at Charles Town. His Majesty the King ends this Curse of Piracy by Sending these Devils back to Hell.
