Summary
Wolfwood wasn't sure how long he was kept there. No idea how many hours passed as he heard distant yelling. All he knew was that Vash was on the way. They'd have a nice night at the hotel. They would be normal again once this was all over.
His daydreaming was interrupted by the door of the building slamming open. For a second, Wolfwood thought it was Vash. He did at least until he felt his hair get tugged back and his ears registered the footsteps of more than one pair of booths. His suspicion was confirmed when he heard the click of a gun.

Or: Wolfwood and Vash try to have a nice outing, unfortunately bounty hunters get their hands on Wolfwood. He and Vash are forced to confront the hypocrisy of their relationship.

They get in a fight, Vash runs off, and then maybe sorta fakes his death on accident. Somehow, he's surprised when Wolfwood acts like the world fell apart.

“I should charge you double fer bringin’ plague.”
“It’s not plague! Please, I need to take care of him.”
“Fifty. Double. Dollars. Or get the hell outta my lobby.”
“I don’t have that. I don’t want trouble, is there anything else I can do?”
The woman leans around to look at Wolfwood, wrinkling her nose. She eyes his clothing, appraising for the worth of a worn down cotton mess held together by prayers and Wolfwood’s shoddy mending skills. Then her eyes skip up to the Punisher still strapped to Vash’s back. Then back to Wolfwood.
“Church man?”
Vash nods stiffly.
“He wear jewelry?”
A rosary.
“No,” Vash says.
She shrugs. “Less you cough up something, I can’t help you.”
Vash stares at her then nods and nods and keeps nodding as he pulls his revolver out from under his coat. He sets it on the counter without looking down at it.
“Will this work?”
