It shouldn't work. Not when there wasn't an ounce of sincerity in it, and yet it spoke to the way Angel felt starved for affection that it made his chest vibrate with a calm sense of clarity.
OR: Alastor finds out that Angel has a praise kink, and discovers he doesn't like what Angel is willing to pay just to hear a few kind words.
