Jean and Mikasa reconcile after an argument.
Prompt: growing old together
Sunlight streams through the front windows, the ruddy gold of a late summer evening, the sky over the mountains bright and the patchwork fields of the river valley green and gold with ripe wheat and corn and alfalfa and the bowing, browned heads of sunflowers past their prime. A breeze sends the curtains billowing into the room, rustles the goldenrod and roses in the vase on the table, brings the scent of fresh hay and sunshine in from the fields. The house is strangely quiet without Alex slamming doors and huffing noisily and tossing herself into chairs. Sometimes, horribly, Jean’s jealous of his own child, of her naivety and her unshakeable belief that life is all limitless possibility, her surety that good things will come. He’s afraid for her, too. Knows that life will grind her down, that someday she will know pain and tragedy and failure and there’s nothing he can do to protect her from it.

It's been a year since the Rumbling ended in the Battle of Heaven and Earth. Mikasa has returned to Paradis and serves Historia as a bodyguard and lover. The queen shows her a new and marvellous device.
“Don't move. I’ll be back.”
Historia was a cruel mistress.
She returned with a sleek wooden box, which she set down on the carpet beside the bed.
“Close your eyes, Mikasa.”
There was a faint whirring sound of a mechanical motor. Something hard and vibrating touched her thigh, and she flinched away. Historia's hand came down to rest reassuringly on her knee.
“What is it, your majesty?”

Summary
The remnants of the Survey Corps are imprisoned in Fort Salta following the Battle of Heaven and Earth. Jean thinks about Mikasa and her chances of survival on the journey back to Paradis.
He’s always been drawn to her, admired her, entertained fantasies of her lips on his, her body underneath him, her eyes meeting him with an adoring gaze. He’s ashamed of these fantasies now, they're juvenile and base, objectifying. She's gone, and he’ll never see her again. Never fight by her side. Never watch her cheeks redden and her lips curl up in mirth, never speak to her again, never lose to her at hand-to-hand, never share another meal. He used to imagine he loved her, but real love recognises the beloved for who they are, not who they might be. He’ll never get to love her now. He hates himself a little bit that her death is the one to push him past the brink, that even now he's selfish and self-pitying, mourning a dream as much as a comrade.

Summary
Mikasa Ackerman has been suppressing feelings for Annie Leonhart since their training days. After Eren's death, she's finally been able to think through the ways he manipulated and controlled her and allows her feelings for Annie to blossom. Annie is still going on diplomatic missions for Eldia, but itches to put her past as an MP and Marleyan warrior to rest and live a quiet life. She can't stop thinking of the times Mikasa embraced her and made all of her worries melt away. The two women look to find solace in each other after years of living through hell.

Things that made Hikaru's stomach flutter and his body feel hot and tight. ‘Hikaru’ enjoys the many varied sensations this human body affords. He would like to explore them all.
